Garbage Day Neatness

Today is garbage day. This morning I put the garbage bin out in the lane, and went to work. When I got home I checked to see if the garbage bin had been put back into the garage. It had, so I walked towards the front door. As I walked past the middle door I saw that it had a note taped to it. I took the note; it was a notice from Hydro which stated that the electricity on the main floor would be cut off unless we paid the bill in full by the end of November 12th.

thisCastle has the Hydro split into two accounts, upstairs and down. Both of the accounts were paid automatically through the magic of plastic. A few months ago, around the time when I’d started getting my Hydro bills online, I half-noticed that I had only received one bill, not two.

The next pay period I only received one bill again, and I just assumed that Hydro had consolidated the two accounts, and thought not much of it. That is until this evening when I got the notice from Hydro.

I called Hydro immediately, and was told that in February someone from some business had called Hydro and transfered the main floor Hydro account to their name, and then had never paid the bills. Hydro wouldn’t say who it was, but I have to say that it was very kind of them to take on some of thisCastle’s financial obligations. It would have been even kinder if they had made some payments for us.

Brad, an old friend, and I have found one another on Facebook. My profile picture is a pic of thisCastle, but there is no reference to thisCastle on Facebook. Brad wrote and asked if I lived in that house, then when I answered yes, he wrote back and said, "I love that weird castle." He knew that it’s a castle.
