Hip Hurts

My hip hurts. No reason that I can recall. I have taken Ibuprofen, and it helps.

I was sitting on the bus this afternoon, and a woman sat beside me. I thought I might know her, but wasn’t sure. I turned my face away from her, and said her name, almost whispered . Then when I turned back she was looking at me and said my name and it was her. Another Mercury retrograde reunion, only this time people from the early 90s.

I am working on a new project, it’s a book called "Vanity". I seek tales of vanity. Here’s a good quote from Anthony Powell: "Self love so often seems unrequited."

And one from Dexter Scott King: "My father said, "Politics asks the question: "Is it expedient?" Vanity asks: "Is it popular?" Conscience asks: "Is it right?"

And one from Neitzche: "Vanity is the fear of appearing original: it is thus a lack of pride, but not necessarily a lack of originality."

Hip hurts. No help for vanity from Ibuprofen.
